sometimes steric acid price lower much than wax ,so some client want to all use to make candle ,just for lighting ,noting to care .only need cheaper ,pls ,we test setaric acid to make candles..it burning no good
Can stearic acid be the main material of candles?
Although stearic acid plays an auxiliary role in candle production, it itself is not suitable as the main raw material of candles. The melting point of stearic acid is high, the candle made when used alone is hard, the flame temperature is high, the combustion speed is slow, and easy to produce smoke and dripping phenomenon, which does not meet the requirements of the use of candles. Therefore, stearic acid is usually mixed with other raw materials such as paraffin to adjust the hardness and combustion performance of the candle to make it more in line with the actual use requirements.
Stearic acid is mixed with paraffin, the overall melting point can be reduced, so that the candle can be kept properly hard at room temperature, and can have a relatively mild flame and faster combustion speed when ignited. In addition, by adjusting the ratio of stearic acid to paraffin, the burning time of the candle can be controlled to meet the needs of different occasions. In practical applications, other auxiliary materials, such as stabilizers and antioxidants, can also be added to improve the stability of the candle and extend its storage life.
The aroma and color of the candle should also be considered when choosing the stearic acid and paraffin mix ratio. Adding the right amount of flavor can give the candle a pleasant aroma and enhance the use experience. Adding pigments or dyes can add color to the candle and make it even more attractive. However, it should be noted that the added flavors and pigments must be candle-specific to ensure that no harmful substances are produced during the combustion process. In addition, in order to ensure the quality of the candle, accurate measuring tools should be used in the mixing process to ensure the accuracy of the composition ratio. Through these careful adjustments, a mixture of stearic acid and paraffin can become the ideal ingredient for making candles to meet the market demand for high quality candles.
